What to check

  • Check the service history. Kia's 7-year warranty depends on servicing to Kia's requirements.
  • Work out how much warranty is left – it runs from first registration.
  • Look for stone chips on the front. The paint is quite thin.
  • Confirm which battery it has – 39kWh or 64kWh.
  • Get a battery health report.

Known issues

  • Thin paint that chips easily at the front.

Pros

  • Excellent reliability record
  • Long 7-year warranty
  • Big boot for the class
  • Good range with the 64kWh battery

Cons

  • Thin paintwork
  • Slower charging than newer EVs

Is a used Kia e-Niro a good buy?

The e-Niro is widely rated as one of the best used EVs in the UK. It's practical, efficient and has an excellent reliability record.

The warranty is a big plus

Kia's 7-year/100,000-mile warranty transfers to the next owner, so many used e-Niros still have years of cover. Kia dealers say it depends on a full Kia service history, so check that carefully.

Which to choose

The 64kWh battery is the one to have for longer journeys. The 39kWh version suits mostly local driving.
